CLEVELAND — Hundreds of youth across northeast Ohio will stay warm this winter as the Salvation Army launches its Coats for Kids campaign sign-up.

Families who qualify to receive winter coats for their children can begin signing up for The Salvation Army’s Christmas Assistance Program on Wednesday, October 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Qualifying families may also sign up on Thursday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, October 25.

Families can register for the program at the following Salvation Army Corps locations:

  • Ohio City Corps – 4402 Clark Avenue
  • Superior Corps – 9000 Superior Avenue
  • Temple Corps – 17625 Grovewood Avenue
  • West Park Corps – 12645 Lorain Avenue

Applicants must bring a driver’s license or photo I.D., birth certificate or current benefit card for each child signing up and proof of income.

Qualifying families in the program will also receive other Christmas assistance including toys for kids 12 and under and a grocery store gift card.
