HAMPTION, Illinois – The problem on the bike path has gotten bad enough for signage to be posted.

New signs have been posted telling people, yes people, to “stop pooping on bike path.”

“It’s just pretty nasty to talk about,” Scott McKay, Hampton’s Public Works supervisor told WQAD.

The problem has been occurring for two years and McKay says he knows that it’s human poop because toilet paper is left near it every time.

“It’s gross and other people shouldn’t have to use our path like that,” said McKay.

He said he hopes the new signage helps the problem.
