Gov. John Kasich, 63, of Westerville, was sworn in as Ohio governor in 2011 and is now in his second term.
Kasich was born in Pennsylvania. He studied political science and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1974.
Kasich served as a member of Congress for 18 years. After leaving in 2000 and running for president, he worked in investment banking with Lehman Brothers.
He is married to Karen, and they have two daughters.
