SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point announced Thursday that it will unleash a new, floorless roller coaster in spring 2015.

It will be called Rougarou, named after a terrifying werewolf-like creature in French folklore. It will be located near the center of the park with other coasters like Iron Dragon and Top Thrill Dragster.

According to Cedar Point, the ride will involve floorless trains that will take riders on a journey at speeds reaching 60 miles per hour as their feet dangle. The trains will be manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, the same team behind rides like the Raptor and GateKeeper.

They’ll utilize the structure and track of the former Mantis roller coaster for the new Rougarou.

The ride begins with a climb at the top of a 145-foot-tall hill, make an 180-degree turn to the right and plummet 137 feet at a 52-degree angle.

They’ll then be flipped upside down by a 119-foot-tall vertical loop, spun around a 103-foot-tall dive loop and whipped around a highly-banked 360-degree turn and twisted upside down again.

Also in 2015, the newly-renovated Hotel Breakers will be debuted.
