As a free agent, James was permitted to sign a contract beginning at 12:01 a.m. Thursday.

There was much speculation over whether he would stay with the Miami Heat or return to Northeast Ohio to rejoin the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James’ home became such a spectacle starting Thursday that a Twitter handle called @LebronsLawn was created.

The account took on a grouchy tone and urged people to leave.

The description stated, “I’m LeBron’s lawn, and y’all got to get off me.”
